This year's Heritage Railway Annual video is presented from the Gt. Central Railway Loughborough. Here locomotives can be seen performing on Britain's only preserved double track mainline. Visits are also made to the Llangollen Railway for their May Gala, the Mid Hants Railway for the Autumn Steam Gala and the Severn Valley Railway for their Diesel Gala. A close look is taken at the Dukedog, which returned to steam at the Bluebell Railway in 2003. City of Truro is also seen, the locomotive re-steaming this year in time for the centenary celebrations of its record-breaking run of 1904. Mainline action comes from the Settle - Carlisle route, where highlights are captured from this years steam programme.
