Autumn Unearthed is the fourth painting in the series `Four Seasons In Steam' by David Waller and is published as a collector print. After the harvest and well into the autumn, Fowler ploughing engines could be seen working in many fields throughout the countryside. In this picture, based on a period in the mid-1920S, sister BB engines Nos 15340, 15341 and a 6-furrow plough prepare the land for a new growing season. These engines and plough were, at this time, new to Robert J Holland & Sons of Brightwalton, Berkshire. They later went to William Reynolds, Bedford, then j W Desborough & Sons of Wiggenhall, St Mary Magdelene, Norfolk before passing to the executors of S W Desborough, Alec and Frank Desborough, then Frank Desborough, before finally arriving with j K W Key of Strumpshaw, Norwich in May 1972 - where they are still preserved. Autumn Unearthed is limited to just 250 copies. The image size is approx 33cm x 49 cm and is perfect for mounting and framing.
